6 Nights / 7 Days
Edinburgh, Aberfoyle, Glencoe, Skye & Inverness
On your arrival in Edinburgh, our local representative welcomes you and helps you get checked-in to your hotel. Tonight, you’ll take part in 'the Edinburgh Whisky Experience' and begin your grand love affair with whisky. Edinburgh Whisky Experience includes: A whisky barrel ride through the production of Scotch Whisky An introduction to the aromas of whisky A guided nosing and tasting of four contrasting single malt whiskies Extended viewing of the World's Largest Collection of Scotch Whisky Boxed crystal whisky tasting glass Complimentary gift An authentic three-course Scottish dinner at the renowned Amber Restaurant including a 'trio' starter and a 'trio' main course, followed by dessert Dram of Scotch whisky with dessert Coffee or tea Overnight at Melville Castle or Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.
Today, we visit the Glengoyne Distillery. Situated at the foot of Dumgoyne Hill, near the beautiful Loch Lomond, the Glengoyne Distillery is famous for enjoying the slowest rate of distillation in Scotland. The spirit comes from the still at around 4-5 liters per minute, which encourages the formation of ‘esters’ giving Glengoyne its characteristically sweet and smooth taste. To understand this process more, take a little tour on whisky production, and when you’re done, you’ll have the chance to create your own Glengoyne Highland Single Malt! Later drive back to the hotel. Overnight at MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa in Aberfoyle.
Today, you travel via the iconic Inveraray Castle to the Ben Nevis Distillery - one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. Established in 1825 and situated at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain from where it gets its name, the Ben Nevis distillery comes with fascinating history. In a specially commissioned short film, you’ll meet Hector McDram, a mythical giant who’ll reveal the secret Legend of the Dew of Ben Nevis. Post this you’ll follow a trained guide on a tour of the whiskey production areas, which ends with a complimentary tasting. Cheers! Glencoe House Hotel in Glencoe.
This morning, you head out to the magnificent Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged, yet beautiful landscapes in Scotland. Explore its beautiful gardens and soak in the stunning mountain views. Visit 18th century castles, shimmering fairy pools and magical fairy glen. If the Isle of Skye sounds otherworldly, that’s because it is. Overnight at Cullin Hills Hotel in Isle of Skye.
Today, you visit the Isle of Skye’s oldest and only working distillery – the Talisker Distillery. Few whiskies tell the story of their origins better than those crafted here. The Talisker is an alluring, sweet, full-bodied single malt that’s surprisingly easy to enjoy and much like Skye itself, hard to leave. Sample some and see for yourself, post your tour. After the distillery visit, you leave for Inverness. Overnight at Culloden House Hotel in Inverness.
Today is an action packed day. Take a boat journey up Loch Ness to the impressive Urquhart Castle. On your way, listen to folklore and keep your eyes peeled for everyone’s favourite Scottish monster. Stop at Beauly for lunch. Then head to Muir of Ord to visit the Glenord Distillery, the only remaining single malt scotch whisky distillery on the Black Isle. Connoisseurs say its eponymous 12-year-old single malt whisky is as good as liquid gold. Overnight at Culloden House Hotel in Inverness.
Today you head to the Inverness airport where you’ll embark on your trip back home. Don’t think of this as an end to your grand romance, but just a short interlude, until you can meet again.

What travellers have to say about Awakeful Experiences.
Dear Sunita and Dudley, we got back from our Alaska/LA trip last week. We had a memorable holiday and this note is to thank you for the same! The itinerary was well thought through and captured most of the 'must-do' bits of Alaska. I must mention that you took care in ensuring we include the stuff that we like - flying, dogs, nature treks, river rafting et al Your choice of hotels was thoughtful, convenient and provided the local experience. This was our first holiday plan with your travel company. My family insists that we do the next ones with you too! have appended a couple of our Alaska pics. Thank you once again!
